Puzzle time!
James decided to put his birthday puzzle together. He was very proud of himself for doing it all by himself.

James' 7th Birthday
I think James had a pretty good birthday. The day started by us going to Spudnuts, which is "The Upper Crust of the Donut World.". If you lived in Cleveland and saw the commercial for this place, you would be smiling right now :-)
Next I convinced James that bouncing would be way more fun than chuck e cheese ;-), so we went to the mall. We walked around then sat and waited for it to open up. Eli also had fun riding the escalators up and down three or four times!
Then it was time for home where we opened up presents, played some chess, and had cake for dessert. Also watched a little Straight No Chaser on PBS as the did our favorite family song of the Christmas Can-Can. :-)

My day
I have had no time to go do anything especially grocery shopping. I was finally out of the basics and had to go. I went on the Sunday before thanksgiving with two kids. Lord help me. Thankfully he reminded me that giant eagle has the eagles nest, a sort of play area, for kids. So James went there. Eli had to stay with me since he is not potty trained.:-(
He was actually ok and prett good until he tuckered out. That is the first pic of him sleeping as we waits the 30 min, yes I said 30 min, to check out.
James took a shower and forgot his towel and yelled for me to come up and help him. This is how I found him, had to take a pic.
After clean time, the boys love the laundry basket and little brother Eli had James pinned inside. It was fun.
Macbeth muse for the day: Eli wants yo see the 'Muffins' at the movies :-). aka The Muppets, he keeps calling them muffins.

James' 1st visit to ER
James had his first accident last night that warranted a trip to the ER. We were getting ready for soccer and our slippery soccer socks met the kitchen floor and one slip later, his ear met the corner of our wooden microwave stand. James screamed immediately, of course. Since I didn't see it, i thought maybe he just bumped his head. then I asked him to show me and there it was, blood everywhere and his ear cut deeply. Enough for me to know that no band aid of mine was going to fix this and that we needed to go to the ER. So I grabbed, Animal crackers, bottle of water, Itouch, diaper, wipes, went to the bathroom, and off to the ER we go with Eli in tow. Jeff was at work.
We went to Hilcrest, even though it wasn't the closest, but I knew they had a Ped ER and would have our info on file.
James did very good on the way keeping pressure on it and we were able to keep our mind off of it by watching tv in car. We got there and got right in. Took a little while for the doctor doctor to come in. OF course I wanted to take a picture of the before ear before they did anything but I forgot my phone in the car. was so bummed. Anyway resident doctor came in and looked at his. then pulled it apart. It was worse than I originally thought. imagine a piece of licorice and cutting it in half but not all the way through. yuck. Very thankful for the tv in the room with cartoons on so he could focus on that. I then think the resident realized he didn't want to 'deal' with it and the doctor doctor came in. OF course the most painful part was the needle for local numbing, but James being James he still cried and screamed when doctor was putting the 6 stitches in! Such fun. Thankfully we had a great nurse, who talked to James and tried to keep him calm.
Eli was super good the whole time. Thank goodness for Itouches! he just sat there, played with the Itouch, ate his crackers, and occasionally looked up to see what was wrong with his brother. :-) Afterwards they both got stickers, silly bands, and Popsicles.
These pictures aren't the best, but you kind of get an idea.
Can't really see the stitches becuase they are inside the 'lip' of the ear.

Random Pics from my long time away of not posting any. :-)
This is how Eli likes to spend his time with me while I am at the computer.
James is in there somewhere. This is from his week long 6 hrs a day soccer camp with Otto Orf!
Didn't get too many pictures from this event unfortunetly. Grandpa and Grandma came to visit us and we took them to the Dragon vs. Captains game. Dragon beat us 12-0 nothing that night. Highlight of course were the fireworks and of course Das Boot!! :-)
Chillin at the pool one day.
My oldest and youngest hanging out with mom before bedtime. Eli got a baloon earlier that day for doing such a good job at the Dentist. He had it ties to his wrist all day and never let go. Amzing what 6 months will do. last time wanted nothing to do with it, this time sat on my lap and let the dental hygenist do her thing. It was great.
Jesus makes a difference every day.
When James went to VBS camp a couple weeks ago they had a little performance of songs for all of us at the end of the week. This was the only place he wanted to practice and sadly the best video I have of him doing it. The night of the performance there was too many people and I never got a good shot.

Train time!
Here are some picture from our Sunday afternoon. We went to Penitentiary Glenn and rode the trains. They also had some bird shows and other stuff to do, but we went mostly for the train. Once again these pictures are in no particular order because it is too hard to put them in order.
James and Jeff sitting on the tiny train behind me.
Eli kind of sitting in my lap but in his own little chair.

Here we go! :-) You get to feel like Giants!

We had about 20 minutes to wait in line for the train, so while jeff held our spot in line, I took the boys a little closer to go see the them. Kudos to anyone who can guess which shell I am wearing? :-)

After the train rides we went to the wildlife center and saw some birds. Mostly hawks and owls.

Gobble Gobble

What is James' wingspan?

"I see Birdies mommy, I see Birdies!"
Blue HEron
We weren't supposed to take pictures while riding on the train, so these are not the best shots, but you get the idea.
Some of the trains are coal powered!
It was good afternoon and best of all it was FREE and not a far drive!
